Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize Autodesk Revit, Fabrication MEP, and related BIM software to develop detailed 3D models, shop drawings, and installation drawings for HVAC sheet metal systems.

  • Produce coordinated fabrication-level drawings that support field installation, prefabrication, and constructability requirements.

  • Collaborate with project teams, including engineering, field operations, and other trades, to ensure accurate coordination within a virtual construction (BIM) environment.

  • Participate in clash detection, coordination meetings, and model reviews to resolve design and layout conflicts.

  • Support model development from concept through construction, commissioning, and project closeout, ensuring alignment with project schedules and deliverables.

  • Maintain and apply company BIM standards, templates, and workflows to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality of all deliverables.

  • Assist with project setup, model organization, and data management to support efficient BIM execution and downstream fabrication processes.

  • Interface with fabrication shops and field teams to ensure model outputs align with fabrication methods, installation sequencing, and prefabrication strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC sheet metal systems, ductwork layout, and mechanical equipment in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Fabrication MEP tools,Navisworks, and Bluebeam.

  • Understanding of BIM coordination processes, including clash detection, model integration, and multi-trade collaboration.

  • Ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, and engineering drawings and translate them into accurate BIM models.

  • Familiarity with fabrication workflows, spool drawings, and installation sequencing is highly preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven project environment.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience utilizing Revit in a BIM or detailing environment.

  • Preferred 3–5+ years of practical field experience in HVAC sheet metal fabrication and installation (e.g., installer, fabricator, journeyman).

  • Demonstrated experience supporting fabrication-driven or construction-focused BIM workflows is highly desirable.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on industry experience.

  • Experience supporting large-scale, high-density, or mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, industrial, or advanced manufacturing environments) is strongly preferred.
