Red Ember Recruitment is seeking on behalf of our client an experienced Revenue Reconciliation Supervisor to lead their revenue reconciliation team and ensure accurate and timely reconciliation across multiple sales channels based in their Plattekloof offices.

The successful candidate will supervise daily revenue reconciliation activities across restaurant and digital sales channels, investigate and resolve variances, maintain effective financial controls and provide accurate reporting to Finance and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Revenue Reconciliation & Cash Control

• 
  Oversee daily reconciliation of POS sales to cash deposits, card settlements, vouchers and delivery-aggregator receipts.

• 
  Monitor revenue across multiple locations and sales channels.

• 
  Ensure cash deposits and CIT collections are complete, timely and matched to bank records.

• 
  Escalate and resolve unreconciled items within agreed time lines.

• 
  Monitor reconciliation exceptions and ensure appropriate follow-up.

Banking, Merchant & Payment Settlements

• 
  Manage operational relationships with banks, payment processors, CIT providers and delivery aggregates.

• 
  Monitor settlement completeness, timing, fees, charge backs and rejected transactions.

• 
  Support fee and service-level reviews.

• 
  Resolve settlement queries with relevant service providers.

• 
  Coordinate bank, POS merchant and aggregator account setup for new locations.

Variance, Leakage & Working Capital

• 
  Investigate cash shortages, deposit discrepancies and settlement variances.

• 
  Identify and investigate revenue leakage.

• 
  Track outstanding reconciling items and drive recovery or correction.

• 
  Work with stores, operations and service providers to resolve exceptions.

• 
  Support working-capital improvement through faster settlement and exception clearance.

Controls, Compliance & Audit

• 
  Maintain effective controls over cash handling, POS settlements, deposits and reconciliations.

• 
  Ensure compliance with company policies, franchise requirements and financial procedures.

• 
  Maintain complete supporting documentation and audit trails.

• 
  Support internal and external audits.

• 
  Implement agreed corrective actions.

Fraud & Risk Management

• 
  Identify unusual revenue, cash and payment trends.

• 
  Escalate suspected fraud or control breaches.

• 
  Implement fraud-prevention measures for cash and electronic payments.

• 
  Monitor recurring exceptions and recommend controls to reduce operational and financial risk.

Systems & Process Improvement

• 
  Use revenue reconciliation systems, POS integrations, merchant portals and ERP tools to improve automation.

• 
  Lead continuous-improvement initiatives.

• 
  Define exception work flows and reduce manual processing.

• 
  Support digital-payment initiatives, including wallets, contact less payments and delivery-partner integrations.

• 
  Automate recurring reports where possible.

Team Leadership

• 
  Lead and supervise the revenue reconciliation team.

• 
  Manage 1 Supervisor, 6 Reconciliation Controllers and 3 Cash-Up Controllers as reflected in the supplied profile.

• 
  Allocate workloads and monitor service levels.

• 
  Ensure adequate daily operational coverage.

• 
  Conduct KPI-based performance reviews.

• 
  Provide coaching and development.

• 
  Manage disciplinary and probationary processes in line with company policy.

Reporting & Stakeholder Support

• 
  Ensure accurate and timely submission of daily, weekly and monthly revenue reconciliation reports.

• 
  Report unresolved variances, ageing, trends, risks and recovery actions to Finance and Operations.

• 
  Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis.

• 
  Maintain clear management dashboards.

• 
  Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.

• 
  Professional certification such as CA, AGA, SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent will be advantageous.

• 
  5–8+ years' experience in revenue reconciliation, cash-up control, merchant settlements, financial operations or a related finance environment.

• 
  Previous supervisory experience leading a reconciliation, cash-up or finance operations team.

• 
  QSR, retail, FMCG or multi-site franchise experience highly preferred.

• 
  Strong practical knowledge of high-volume POS transactions, cash deposits, card acquiring and delivery-aggregator settlements.

• 
  Advanced Excel skills.

• 
  Experience with ERP systems such as Sage or Sage Intacct.

• 
  Strong understanding of POS, cash-up, banking, merchant acquiring and delivery-aggregator platforms.

• 
  Knowledge of daily sales-to-bank and sales-to-ERP reconciliation processes.

• 
  Understanding of revenue controls, exception management, audit evidence and fraud-prevention practices.
