Red Ember Recruitment is seeking on behalf of our client an experienced Revenue Reconciliation Manager to lead their revenue reconciliation and treasury operations based at their Plattekloof office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cash, liquidity, banking relationships and financial risk within a high-volume, multi-site environment. The role will oversee revenue reconciliation processes, strengthen financial controls, manage key stakeholders and drive automation and continuous improvement.
Cash & Liquidity Management
Oversee daily cash positioning and ensure sufficient liquidity to support operations.
Monitor cash flows across multiple locations, including cash, card settlements and delivery aggregations.
Ensure timely deposits and reconciliation of store-level cash with CIT providers and banks.
Monitor cash conversion and identify opportunities to improve working capital.
Banking & Payment Operations
Manage relationships with banking partners, payment processors and CIT providers.
Negotiate banking fees, merchant service charges and service-level agreements.
Oversee the setup of new merchant, POS and aggregator accounts.
Monitor banking and payment processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Working Capital & Revenue Controls
Improve the cash conversion cycle across inventory, payables and receivables.
Support initiatives designed to reduce cash leakage at operational level.
Maintain strong internal controls over cash handling, POS settlements and reconciliations.
Ensure accurate and timely revenue reconciliation across locations and payment channels.
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure compliance with company revenue reconciliation policies, franchise requirements and financial regulations.
Support internal and external audits relating to revenue reconciliation and cash processes.
Support insurance and property-risk review processes where required.
Implement fraud-prevention measures for cash and electronic payments.
Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Systems & Process Improvement
Leverage revenue reconciliation systems, POS integrations and ERP systems to automate processes.
Lead continuous-improvement initiatives to improve accuracy, security and efficiency.
Support digital-payment initiatives, including wallets, contact less payments and delivery-partner integrations.
Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve reporting.
Team Leadership
Lead and manage a revenue reconciliation team.
Manage 1 Supervisor, 6 Reconciliation Controllers and 3 Cash-Up Controllers.
Allocate responsibilities and ensure appropriate team coverage.
Monitor staff performance through KPI-based reviews.
Manage disciplinary processes and probationary reviews in line with company policies.
Reporting
Ensure accurate and timely submission of revenue reconciliation reports and reconciliations.
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to Operations and Finance.
Monitor trends, variances, risks and recovery actions.
Provide meaningful financial and operational information to support decision-making.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Professional certification such as CA, AGA, SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent will be advantageous.
5–8+ years' experience in treasury, revenue reconciliation, cash management or corporate finance.
Experience in QSR, retail, FMCG or multi-unit franchise environments will be highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of high-volume cash transactions and POS/merchant settlement processes.
Experience managing and leading reconciliation or finance teams.
Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems and Treasury Management Systems.
Familiarity with POS systems, merchant portals and delivery-aggregator dashboards.
Understanding of banking products, payment systems and cash-handling processes.
