At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As a Revenue Recognition & Project Accountant, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history and innovation. You’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern society and enhancing lives - as we continue to apply, refine and recycle metals that matter, for a healthier and more resilient future.

The role:

As a Revenue Recognition & Project Accountant, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Supporting the financial management of projects throughout their lifecycle, from project setup and maintenance to closure and reporting.
  • Contributing to the revenue recognition process by preparing data, performing reconciliations, and helping ensure compliance with accounting requirements.
  • Maintaining project information and financial data within SAP, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strong data governance.
  • Partnering with Project Managers and finance colleagues to support project costing, financial performance tracking, and informed decision-making.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end activities, audits, and financial reporting to help deliver accurate and timely results.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, resolve data issues, and support continuous improvement across project accounting activities.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Experience in project accounting, project controlling, revenue accounting, or a similar finance role involving project-based financial activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues, work with large data sets, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong data management and reporting skills, supported by experience using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • A proactive and curious approach, with the confidence to challenge issues, improve processes, and work through complex situations.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and communicate clearly across finance, project, and operational teams.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition principles, including exposure to IFRS 15, would be an advantage.

Even if you only match some of the skills, we’d love to hear from you to discuss further!
