Job Description

Assists with the strategic development, implementation, and monitoring of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) initiatives. Specifically, this position works collaboratively with the Director of Professional Fees to maximize revenue cycle enhancement projects through the use of technology, improved workflow, training, feedback reporting, process improvements, and increased employee knowledge and accountability. Works with and assists other RCM staff to prioritize and implement their key supporting initiatives. The focus of this position is to assist with improving revenue cycle and ambulatory care performance. Helps to establish and implement standardized Best Practice policies and procedures to maximize efficiencies and revenue cycle performance; and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree preferred, coursework or training in Computer Science, Technologies and Security preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare industry especially with revenue cycle is strongly preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Uses multiple applications for data analysis: Bi Launchpad, Cognos, Vizient, Optum CAC, and advance abilities for Office 365 applications.
  • Provides AR & Denial analysis for all FFS and Contract clients to include identifying trends/issues, problem solving, and working with RCM Management team to resolve.
  • Provides overall Revenue Cycle assistance for by discovering areas of loss revenue opportunities and providing recommendations for process improvement.
  • Analyzes payments versus the contracts with the payer; provides recommendations for front and backend training based on findings during analysis and review.
  • Assists with assigned projects that impact revenue operations from development to successful implementation. Performs QA and follow up activities that insures continuation of desired results.
  • Participates on a variety of focused projects that impact RCM.
  • Assists and collaborates with department management team to maximize the entire revenue cycle processes through the use of technology, improved workflow, and increased employee knowledge and accountability.

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position.Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
