Job Description

Job Location: Revenue Cycle Management PA - Cranberry Township, PA 16066
Position Type: Full TimePOSITION SUMMARY:  Full Time Remote EST Only
This entry level Revenue Cycle position provides support, performs revenue cycle tasks, assigns correspondence, medical records coordination, answers phones and works on special projects related to various revenue cycle functions. The Revenue Cycle Support Clerk is responsible for supporting efficient Revenue Cycle operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answering company main phone line and directing calls where needed.
- Maintain responsibility for medical records support functions while following medical records policies and procedures.
- Respond to request for medical records and process requests timely via paper or electronic media.
- Obtain and/or verify that authorization for release of medical records has been received.
- Pull medical records for payor audits and complete tracking in an accurate and confidential manner.
- Create and send medical records invoices and track payments.
- Comply with federal HIPAA regulations and practice policies for the privacy and security of patient information; explain the law and our privacy policy to patients as needed; maintain appropriate documentation of access to medical records.
- Printing and preparing any paper insurance claims.
- Sorting and scanning correspondence in to EMR system assigning to proper department or Revenue Cycle personnel.
- Keying credit card payments received via correspondence.
- Ordering supplies for RCM department.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education / Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare related experience and/or a medical billing certificate preferred.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education a plus.
- Detail-oriented with impeccable organizational, workflow, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to read and understand the information provided on EOB’s, remittance advices, and other insurance correspondence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective customer service skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external customers, i.e. insurance payors, Patient Care Coordinators and therapists in a professional manner.
- Ability to prioritize work, handling daily and multiple tasks to completion within the time allotted, while working as part of a team within a demanding environment.
- Detail-oriented with impeccable organizational, workflow, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools with a sharp technical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
