Summary:
The Revenue Audit Team Lead is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for reviewing, validating, and supporting the daily Revenue Audit function to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with Tribal Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS), and applicable federal regulations. This role focuses primarily on audit review, complex reconciliations, compliance oversight, and team support. The Revenue Audit Team Lead serves as the primary resource for training new hires on all audit procedures and acts as the go-to contact for audit support across the department. Direct performance of audits is conducted as needed. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities. The incumbent will perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations, regulatory compliance, and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Review & Validation
• Review completed daily revenue audits for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory
compliance
• Validate reconciliations of gaming revenue (slots, table games, sportsbook, etc.)
• Review non-gaming revenue audits (hotel, food & beverage, retail, entertainment,
promotions)
• Ensure proper reconciliation of cash, chips, vouchers, kiosks, and electronic gaming systems
• Identify discrepancies and ensure timely investigation and resolution
Training & Team Support
• Train new hires on revenue audit procedures, systems, and regulatory requirements
• Serve as primary point of contact for audit-related questions
• Provide technical guidance and procedural clarification
• Assist with complex reconciliations, unusual transactions, and system issues
• Perform hands-on audits when operational needs require
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
• Ensure compliance with:
o Tribal Gaming Ordinance
o Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS)
o Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)
o Compact requirements (if applicable)
• Maintain documentation for Tribal Gaming Commission review
• Support regulatory, internal, and external audits
• Report irregularities in accordance with compliance standards
Reporting & Financial Integrity
• Review and validate daily revenue audit reports prior to submission
• Verify accuracy of general ledger postings and revenue allocations
• Assist with month-end, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Support external CPA audits and regulatory examinations

Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
• Prior casino revenue audit experience highly preferred
• Experience in a Tribal gaming environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of gaming revenue reconciliation processes and internal controls required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS)
• Understanding of MICS and gaming regulatory requirements
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Proficiency in casino management and accounting systems
• Strong analytical and investigative abilities
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Strong training and mentoring abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work flexible hours due to business needs including but not limited to nights,
holidays, weekends.
• Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke).
• Ability to work onsite in a casino environment and collaborate across departments.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands
and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk, hear, and see. Prolonged periods of
sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk;
climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move
up to 30 pounds.
