The Revenue Accounting and Reporting Manager will partner with Accounting Operations (AR & AP), Legal, and Sales teams to maintain and provide accurate financial data for Recor’s fast-growing customer base. They will support the accounting team by assisting in the month-end close process, GPO rebate filings, and ad hoc requests. In addition, they will be responsible for preparing the monthly reporting package for our Parent Company. As Recor is a rapidly growing company, technical ability and critical thinking are crucial skills as this role will bridge the gap between operations, controls, and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Review Sales Contracts: Examine sales contracts to ensure accurate revenue and rebate treatment and recording in accordance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
Collaborate with Accounting and Sales Operations: Partner with accounting and sales operations teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of records related to sales transactions.
Maintain and Balance Accounts: Verify, allocate, post, reconcile transactions, and resolve any discrepancies to maintain accurate and balanced accounts.
Provide Expert Guidance: Engage with cross-functional departments to offer expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) guidance, particularly for complex contracts and transactions.
Participate in Close Process: Contribute to the close process by reviewing contracts, conducting fluctuation analysis, ensuring compliance with GAAP through journal entries, and facilitating a smooth and accurate financial close.
Work closely with our Parent Company to prepare the monthly reporting package as well as any other requested submissions.
Prepare Customer/GPO Rebate Reporting: Compile and prepare reports for customer and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) rebates to be submitted to external parties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Continuous Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in business processes and systems, enhancing documentation and controls to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Ad Hoc Projects: Undertake ad hoc projects and fulfill requests as needed to support various business initiatives and objectives.
Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment, responding effectively to changes and challenges.
Requirements
Minimum of 7 years accounting experience and relevant industry experience preferred
Previous role(s) in GL and/or revenue accounting
Strong aptitude and proficiency in Excel
Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
Detail-oriented and excellent time and project management skills and can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a high-paced business culture.
Process-oriented with an appreciation for financial controls.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar
Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce
Salary Range: $138,000- $150,000 (Annual Base Salary)
The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
