Job Description

Shift is Monday - Friday, 1st shift (6:00am - 2:30pm)

This individual in this role is responsible for the sorting, labeling, and put-away of returned product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thoroughly inspect and compare merchandise with the original requisition, recording pertinent details such as quantity, type of defect, and date on invoices or relevant forms.
  • Package and label merchandise appropriately for resale.
  • Receive and evaluate returned products.
  • Conduct research to gather necessary information about the products.
  • Manage and organize core sorting bins.
  • Maintain the UPS staging area.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the check-in area.
  • Utilize material handling equipment, such as a pallet jack, to put away returned products.
  • Participate in a collaborative work environment utilizing effective communication and willingness to cross train to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development.
  • Comply with comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment and maintain a safety-conscious culture.
  • Follow all 5S principles and guidelines daily to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)

  • Preferred: High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification; 1 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with material handling equipment: Pallet Jack
  • Capable of following instructions and responding to management direction.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Has the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Possesses effective verbal communication skills

Work Environment

This role involves working in a warehouse setting. In the warehouse, standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, cameras, and material handling equipment (forklift, reach truck, order picker, etc.) are used.

Physical Demand Description

  • Standing--Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position
  • Walking, Reaching and Handling-- Must be able to frequently move about inside the warehouse to access product and machinery, etc. Must be able to stand and walk 60% of time, lift up to 40 lbs. normal, up to 70 lbs. less than 10% of time.
  • Seeing-- Frequently reads various documents and operates computer and other office tools/databases/equipment.
  • Talking and Hearing-- Frequently communicates with colleagues, co-workers, and customers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Manual Dexterity-- Frequently operates a computer and warehouse machinery.
