Job Description

Reporting to the Customer Service Leader, the Site Manager for Heat Exchanger (HEX) is responsible for preparation, planning, leading execution, and close out of planned/emergent outage events for Heat Exchanger in Nuclear Power Plants

The Outage Manager is a focal role for Arabelle Solutions Switzerland, with accountability for driving consistent outage planning and execution, driving adoption of best practices and lessons learned.

Role:

  • Manage complex outage event preparation (Planned/Emergent/Upgrade) from start to finish, including outage schedule development, TFA/craft labor/tooling/cost planning, customer management - pre/post outage meetings, mobilization planning, JCE execution, and event close out.
  • Creation of Pre-approval Documents (Vorprüfunterlagen). Incoming inspection of installation materials including acceptance certificates. Planning of welder skill tests.
  • Ensure proper execution documentation is prepared, used, reviewed, stored and delivered including Field Procedures, Quality Procedures, EHS and Customer Outage Reports.
  • Ensuring that welded structures are safe, compliant with standards and efficiently produced. Selecting appropriate welding processes. Defining welding parameters, procedures and material. Inspection and approving welding work.
  • Own onsite execution with large teams during assigned outages, ensuring goals & requirements are met at all times, manage on job cost tracking, productivity, while managing execution risk and any Service warranty.
  • Drive improvement of vendor/sourcing cost, on-time delivery, outage cost & productivity implementation, effectively update and maintain accurate tracking files, control man hour cost and pacing.
  • Lead project quotation development including work scope, site condition check, preliminary safety and risk analysis to identify potential issues or obstacles and to minimize cost impact for site execution;
  • Work with IT applications for proper allocation, preparation, planning and forecasting on labor, tooling, vendor management.
  • Respond to forced outages/emergency promptly, be on site when needed, investigate/escalate site issues to restore the units to operating conditions in a timely manner;
  • Support Customer Service Leader & ITO on technical & project communication to customer staff with respect to unit maintenance, operations, performance, new technology and new products.
  • Actively work to improve and perfect existing processes and look for simplification opportunities.
  • The Site Manager HEX will be deployed mainly in Switzerland. However, the Site Manager will be required to operate flexibly across Europe and the Service Region 2, to maximize utilization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience within the power generation industry.
  • Certified Welding Specialist qualification required.
  • Minimum 4 years of field service experience in power generation maintenance, including outage planning and execution.
  • Fluent in German with good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Solid technical expertise in heat exchanger maintenance and repair.
  • Strong quality assurance and quality control background.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and web-based tools.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including customers and internal teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven influencing abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in dynamic, fast-paced, and complex customer-site environments.
  • Quick learner with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and results orientation.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and able to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized, process-driven, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
