Retoucher - Cape Town - Onsite Role

Reports to Retoucher Team Lead

About the role

Produce accurate, high-quality digital images through colour correction, deep etching and digital enhancement. You will work to client briefs and defined image standards across image libraries and ad hoc photography, maintaining quality and a consistent turnaround in a busy production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Colour correct and deep etch electronic images across the digital image workflow.
• Follow client briefs, image specifications and quality assurance requirements to deliver the highest possible image quality.
• Maintain a fast, consistent work rate without compromising quality, and deliver a quick turnaround on assigned jobs.
• Apply an understanding of digital photography technology and digital enhancement to image production.
• Follow applicable workplace policies and procedures, including requirements under the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Labour Relations Act.
• Grade 12.
• A tertiary qualification in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign.
• 2 to 3 years of experience, preferably within advertising agencies.
• Exposure to product photography and digital enhancements.
• Work well in a team and independently without supervision.
• Take the lead when required and follow direction when needed.
• Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining image quality.
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and an eye for creativity.
• Bring self-motivation, energy and a practical approach to problem solving.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Act ethically in all internal and external interactions.
• Collaborate with the sourcing and sales teams, regional photography studios, desktop publishing teams and senior management.
• Accurate colour correction and deep etching of electronic images.
• Consistent adherence to image specifications and quality standards.
• Timely delivery without compromising image quality.
