Job Description

Horace Mann is seeking a consultative, relationship-driven Retirement Sales Representative tohelp educators plan for a secure retirement. In this remote role, you will be responsible for engaging educators and other clients through inbound inquiries and proactive outbound outreach to identify retirement planning needs and deliver tailored investment and income solutions. The representative will provide guidance on retirement readiness, accumulation strategies, and income planning, helping clients build long-term financial security and confidence.

Key Responsibilities
• Engage with prospective and existing clients via inbound calls and outbound follow-up to discuss retirement planning needs and solutions
• Conduct needs-based financial conversations to assess retirement readiness, risk tolerance, time horizon, and income goals
• Recommend appropriate retirement solutions, including annuities and investment products, aligned to client objectives
• Educate clients on retirement planning concepts, income strategies, and available product solutions
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through a consultative, trust-based approach
• Manage and develop a pipeline of opportunities through consistent follow-up on leads, referrals, and prior interactions
• Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance metrics
• Accurately document client interactions and sales activities within CRM systems
• Stay current on market trends, product knowledge, and regulatory requirements
• Ensure full compliance with licensing, regulatory standards, and company policies

Schedule
• Full-time, remote position
• Scheduled shifts within business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. CT

Required Qualifications
• Active Series 6 and 63 licenses required
• Active Life Insurance license required
• Preference for IAR designation and/or Series 7, or willingness to obtain
• Minimum of 3 years of financial services or consultative sales experience, preferably in retirement planning, investments, or wealth accumulation

• Proven ability to build trust and establish relationships in a remote engagement model
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain pipeline discipline
• Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business technology tools

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with educators or in a niche/affinity market
• Experience in inbound sales or call center environments
• Familiarity with retirement income planning and annuity solutions

Compensation and Benefits

  • $19.66 – $29.04 per hour, plus uncapped commission
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience, location, and qualifications
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match
