Summary

Communicate directly with program participants, employers, and others on the job sites who have direct and indirect contact with individuals on those sites. The focus is on the program participants ability to maintain employment, meeting employer standards and expectations, while also maintaining a healthy balance of personal and work needs. To make efforts to market all services available through the Agency when contacting employers or community members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adherence to all requirements related to specific funding sources: maintaining necessary records, submitting weekly reports, and providing input to referral sources regarding individual retention progress. Provide weekly and monthly reports in the required case management system.
  • Develop an Individual Service Plan for each participant based upon the Needs Assessments and updates a minimum of quarterly.
  • Applying intensive motivational and follow-along services to encourage satisfactory work performance to meet or exceed employer standards.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively to referral sources and support networks for the program participants.
  • Assist program participants in developing work-appropriate relationships with supervisors, managers, and peers on the work site.
  • Maintain a liaison relationship with referring agencies regarding the applicant's progress.
  • Establish and maintain an active relationship with the participant's employer, specifically their direct supervisor(s), in order to proactively identify and correct issues regarding the participant’s performance or additional training needs.
  • Ensures that paperwork is in compliance with GESMV guidelines and regulations.
  • Meets or exceeds individual and departmental program goals as established by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of a broad range of occupations and jobs as well as local employment, vocational, and educational resources.
  • Maintain interactive and positive contact with the employer to determine additional or future personnel needs and share information with the employment specialist teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards and ensure safety training throughout areas supervised and maintain the same to meet CARF, the Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Business Education, Social Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in field of vocational rehabilitation or job development.
  • Experience in the field may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Experience Requirements

  • Involvement in implementation and development of training programs for adults with disabling and disadvantaging conditions.
  • Leading candidates will have a strong background in instructing, vocational rehabilitation, vocational assessment, and job placement services.

  • Employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. If at any time the employee is unable to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider, they must immediately notify Human Resources.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and utilize own transportation routinely for field based assignment.
  • Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
