$75,000 - $79,000Under the direction of the Chair, Department of Nursing and the Activity Director, the Retention Coordinator will coordinate and lead retention efforts for the Title III Activity Future Act and manage university-wide plans of retention by working together with the Department of Nursing.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead retention efforts for the Title III Activity Future Act in conjunction with University goals and manage university-wide retention plans in partnership with the Department of Nursing.
  • Work collaboratively withthe Activity Directorand Faculty Academic Advisors.
  • Assist Nursingfaculty advisors in collaboration withretention goals and outcomes. and outcomes with faculty, administrators, and stakeholders.
  • Meet regularly with at-risk and academically vulnerable nursing students, providing academic advising, coaching, and referrals toappropriatecampussupport services.
  • Analyze andmaintainstudent data specific toNursing SLOs
  • Analyzenursingstudents’ mid-term performance data.
  • Collaborate with Nursing faculty and academic advisors to align advising and support strategies with Title III retention goals.
  • Assist faculty in identifying student performance gaps using mid-term data and implementing timely interventions.
  • Provide academic workshops,advisingsessions, and teach sections of Freshman Seminar to first-year nursing students.
  • Provide referrals to students forappropriate supportservices asneeded.
  • Support assessment and accreditation activities by contributing data analysis and reporting related to retention and progression.
  • Work collaboratively with the Title IIIActivityDirector and other institutional units to ensure alignment with university-wide student success initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by theActivityDirector.
  • Teach sections of Freshman Seminar.
  • Other duties assigned by theActivity Directorand Department Chair

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’sdegreerequired Master’s degree preferred, in a discipline ofnursing,social, behavioral or health sciences related to theNursingprogram served bytheTitleIII Enhancing Undergraduate Nursing.
  • Threeyears of progressive experience in higher education with a focus on assessment, retention, and student success initiatives.
  • Demonstratedexpertisein data analytics, reporting, and visualization using tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of assessment and accreditation processes in higher education, particularly in nursing or health sciences programs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators in support of student retention and progression.
  • Commitment to fostering equity, persistence, and student success in diverse learning environments.
  • Strong background in academic advising and working directly with at-risk and diverse student populations.
  • Strong advising skills with the ability to provide individualized academic and career guidance to nursing students.
  • Proven success working collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and student services to drive student success outcomes.
  • Experience with retention initiatives.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in a variety of software applications, including spreadsheets, CRM systems, learning analytics platforms, database systems, and statistical packages.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting nursing programs or health-related disciplines preferred.
