The Retail Technology / POS Platform Intern will support retail technology initiatives by assisting with process documentation, basic system flow understanding, enhancement tracking, and issue documentation across point-of‑sale and supporting platforms.

This role is designed for a student or early career individual who is interested in how enterprise retail systems operate and evolve. The intern will help translate discussions, observations, and high‑level technical concepts into clear, structured documentation that supports cross‑functional teams including Technology, Retail Operations, Compliance, Finance, and external partners.

This position does not provide store level support, does not involve system configuration, and does not require SOP authorship. It is an entry level, learning‑focused role centered on documentation, process understanding, and exposure to system behavior.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in documenting current‑state and future‑state process flows related to retail technology operations
  • Support documentation of system enhancements, known issues, bugs, limitations, and workarounds under guidance
  • Capture and organize information from meetings, emails, and working sessions into:
    • Process summaries
    • Simple flow diagrams
    • Change logs or issue lists
  • Help document high‑level impacts of system changes on downstream teams, systems, or reporting
  • Maintain organized documentation related to: Active initiatives, Open and resolved issues, General system behavior and dependencies
  • Prepare clear, business‑friendly summaries of technical or operational topics for non‑technical audiences
  • Provide general project, documentation, and organizational support for retail technology initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in: Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in technology, systems, or process analysis
  • Ability to write clearly and organize information in a structured way
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions to understand unfamiliar systems or concepts
  • Attention to detail and basic organizational skills
  • Comfort working with evolving or incomplete information
  • Familiarity with common productivity tools (Excel, Google Sheets, Word, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or academic exposure to enterprise systems or business processes
  • Basic awareness of SAP or other large enterprise platforms (academic or conceptual exposure is sufficient)
  • Experience with class projects involving: Process mapping, documentation, technical or analytical writing
  • Interest in product, platform, systems, or business analysis roles
