Additional Information

  • Permanent Full-time (76 hours/fortnight)
  • Internal job title: Sales Coordinator
  • Availability to work a rotating roster across 7 days
  • You must be available Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights until 9:30pm
  • Availability to work alternating weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

  • November to January is one of IKEA's busiest trading periods. To support our customers during this time, we prefer co-workers not to plan holidays during these months and to maintain availability throughout the peak period.

About this work area

As Retail Supervisor, you will optimise sales performance within your area by supervising and coordinating the team, using your knowledge of the IKEA range, local market and customer needs. You will help create an enjoyable, convenient and successful shopping experience while contributing to the long-term profitability and commercial success of the store.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting, coaching and developing co-workers to maximise sales and deliver a positive customer experience.
  • Supervising and coordinating the daily operation of the team and providing feedback on team performance.
  • Solving operational challenges and responding appropriately to urgent issues, escalating when required.
  • Sharing specialist knowledge of the IKEA product range, services and tools to build team competence and confidence.
  • Encouraging co-workers to promote complete home furnishing solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Maintaining a clean, well-stocked, priced and commercially attractive sales area that meets IKEA merchandising standards.
  • Analysing and adjusting sales space capacities through Sales Location Management to secure stock availability and improve the customer experience.

You are an experienced retail leader who enjoys developing people, driving commercial results, and creating great customer experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, lead by example on the shop floor, and know how to motivate a team to achieve sales and operational goals.

You have:

  • Prior experience in a similar role, highly customer-focused and fast-paced commercial retail environment.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing teams to deliver strong customer and commercial outcomes.
  • A proven ability to drive sales, manage priorities, and maintain operational excellence in a busy retail environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities to improve sales performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Confidence making day-to-day operational decisions and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Experience delegating tasks, coordinating workflows and supporting team performance.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
