Retail Supervisor

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Retail Supervisor In this role, you will help the Director, Operations Manager, and Assistant Manager oversee all aspects of the resort's retail department. The supervisor will be familiar with all store layouts and will help maintain visual presence, service standards, and cleanliness across all locations, but will have a primary focus on a delegated store as their core responsibility. 

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll directly shape the guest shopping experience by helping lead daily retail operations, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and presented, and providing exceptional service that creates memorable moments for every guest. You’ll also coach and support associates, fostering a positive, high-performing team culture that reflects Kalahari's commitment to delivering extraordinary experiences.

Pay Rate - $19 - $22/Hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Have strong communication with the team and be able to effectively communicate the business trends and needs to the Retail Director.
  • Ongoing Training to be done with the associates as well as yourself to ensure a positive work environment and opportunity for growth.
  • Work with the associates to ensure goals and expectations of the store environment are set to standard. ALL checklists should be completed daily. Including required dress codes and standards to ensure personal belongings are secured in lockers prior to arriving at the store.
  • Ability to handle register operations, support the team in approved returns and exchanges, and ensure suggestive selling is incorporated with every transaction.
  • Uphold all Kalahari initiatives, sales goals, and contest goals to show a selling culture in the stores. Challenge associates to be friendly and to provide suggestions to guests and associates shopping, as well as up-selling items when appropriate.
  • Lead inventory efforts on a monthly/quarterly basis and have a strong knowledge of the top sellers of the stores.
  • Ensure a wide variety of items are available for the guests to purchase, and that store shelves are fully stocked.
  • Ensure that all retail outlets are kept clean, orderly, well lit, with creative displays to attract customers. Includes, but is not limited to, decorating for the holidays.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years in a supervisory/management position within a Retail environment.
  • 1-2 years in a hospitality environment (hotel, resort, retail, attractions) is preferred.
  • Must have a good-natured, cooperative attitude that sets the pace for the team to follow.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and prior experience with register operations is a plus.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to constantly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Constantly required reach and grasp.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in an active environment, with moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to work and be flexible with all shifts, inventory days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions and frequently move.
