Job Description

A dynamic and exciting opportunity has become available for a 3 month contract position as a Retail Space Planner

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising retail space through the effective use of Revit/CAD for layout planning. This includes ensuring cost efficiency, maximising stock density, and maintaining full OHASA compliance.

This role is integral to creating high-performing retail environments that drive sales and enhance the customer experience. The Retail Space Planner will contribute to the design and execution of layouts for new store openings, refurbishments of existing stores, and various special projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Projection Initiation (Collecting the necessary information)

2. Effective Retail Space Planning

2.1 Effective implementation of Ackermans Retail Principles:

  • STOCK Experience

  • Siyamazi Experience

  • Phadima Experience

2.2 Quality Control

  • Ensuring all items are drawn using the correct templates and technical principles

2.3 Time of delivery of plans

2.4 Quality of Information added to the plans - supporting downstream stakeholders

2.5 Packs are completed (All layers are drawn and complete):

  • Merchandise Plan

  • Wet works Plan

  • Ceiling and Lighting Plan

  • Floor and Fire Plan

  • Tiling Plan

  • Elevations for Fire Plan

3. Effective Communication and Administration

3.1 Effective Communication

3.2 Housekeeping and Administration is correct and to agreed upon principles.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook) is an important requirement.

  • Self-motivated

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.

  • Action orientated

  • Innovative

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • The ability to:

    • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with an excellent command of the English Language

    • Multi-task with.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric

  • Certificate / Diploma in building draughting / interior designing

  • Completed REVIT course

  • A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ relevant experience - a background in design and store layout experience advantageous.

  • Proficient use of REVIT, AutoCAD and ability to visualize 3D layout in a working environment
