Job Description

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a construction-related course of study or equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position.
• 3 years of experience in general retail setup and/or construction
• Valid Driver’s license
• Advanced knowledge of the various construction methods and materials related to commercial construction
• Advanced knowledge of construction drawings and installation manuals
• Advanced knowledge of retail construction trades including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical
• Knowledge of regional building codes and other regulatory agency requirements
• Knowledge of the standard building code and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Basic Microsoft Word & Excel skills
• Willingness to travel to stores throughout the retail division, including overnight stays as required.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when required.

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related course of study or equivalent level of documented construction experience
• 5 years of experience in retail setup and/or general construction
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (Preferred to obtain by 1 year in the position)
• Intermediate Microsoft Word skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills
• Basic Microsoft Access skills

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
