Your opportunity:

The Hospitality & Ancillary Services department oversees several contracted and self-operated services at U of T Mississauga. Reporting to the Manager, Retail Services, the Retail Services Assistant provides support for Hospitality & Ancillary Services by delivering of mail and print jobs, by ensuring that all vending machines are operational, by tending to the vertical farm, and by assisting with the operation of other retail services as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and troubleshooting printers
  • Updating and maintaining database records
  • Applying established standards when determining what bindery methods to use for print jobs
  • Scanning records, Photocopying and/or printing and passing on copies of exam materials
  • Following rules and procedural instructions when operating photocopiers
  • Applying established standards when operating equipment
  • Following rules and procedural instructions when receiving, sorting and distributing mail
  • Applying established standards when planting, maintaining, and fertilizing plant material

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of related experience, preferably within print production
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and email
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30kg and push/pull a cart with loads up to 100kg
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions at least once per day
  • Production printing experience


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Customer service experience in a student and/or academic environment
  • Experience with vending services
  • Experience with mail sorting and delivery services
