The Tennis Concierge delivers outstanding customer service with a technical focus, creating a unique experience for tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels. This role leverages a passion for tennis, personal experiences, and in-depth knowledge of the game to offer tailored product recommendations that meet athletes' needs. Additionally, the Tennis Concierge supports the service department by performing complex racquet stringing and customizations. They are also fully trained in sales and register operations to assist athletes visiting the House of Sport.

Product Knowledge

  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of brand offerings and competitive products.
  • Translates / aligns product technology to the athlete’s needs and preferences, contributing to and enhancing the athlete’s overall game day experience.
  • Participates in organizational initiatives such as universities to test and learn new products and share insights with teammates and athletes.
  • Partners with store teammates by regularly utilizing training materials to educate others on tennis products, apparel, and trends.
  • Hosts tennis specific workshops educating athletes on leading products and trends in the industry.
  • Trains and develops teammates through knowledge sharing by educating them on products, key vendors, and current trends in the industry.

Service

  • Supports Company standards of selling and customer service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer and maintaining solid product knowledge.
  • Assist with complex high end racquet stringing and customization services.
  • Trains and develops teammates on servicing high end and complex racquet stringing requests.
  • Preserving complete and accurate records and maintaining record keeping systems for Tennis related services.
  • Ensures the equipment is to company standards and ensuring a clean, secure and safe work environment
  • Diagnose faults, damage and wear to give accurate estimates to athletes, and educating them on and whether repairs are essential or recommended
  • Assemble new equipment and partner with lead to perform quality checks before handing off to the athlete.

Experience

  • Fully outfits athletes with appropriate footwear, apparel, and accessories to equip them for any occasion - from practice / training to game day.
  • Participates and helps lead merchandise sets, replenishment and recovery processes, pricing and signing execution, etc. to ensure that established presentation standards are met and maintained.
  • Builds rapport within the community, specifically with tennis athletes of all experiences and skill levels.
  • Leverages tennis knowledge to provide recommendations that meets the athlete’s needs

Community & Engagement

  • Acts as a liaison between the brand and local tennis communities.
  • Actively involved in tennis related activities (i.e., officiates, coaches, associates with competitive clubs, plays in leagues, etc.) and/or stays up to date on every aspect of the game.
  • Ability to simplify insights when speaking with newer players, yet also builds rapport with seasoned athletes by leveraging experience and/or knowledge of the game
  • Leans on expertise of the game to understand and align the athlete’s needs to appropriate products.
  • Partners with tennis clubs, coaches, and players to increase brand awareness and drives sales from leveraging in store tennis events.
  • Hosts and supports tennis events and workshops around skills, techniques, and elevated tennis specific product.

Miscellaneous

  • Adheres to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all Company information. Complies with all workplace safety programs.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • APPROACHABLE AND OUTGOING: Quickly builds rapport with tennis athletes of all experience and skill levels
  • TENNIS ENTHUSIAST: Actively involved in tennis-related activities (i.e. refs, coaches, associates with competitive clubs, plays outdoor or indoor leagues, etc.) and / or stays up to date on every aspect of the game (i.e. latest technology, international leagues and players, etc.)
  • COMFORTABLE COMMUNICATOR: Ability to simplify insights when speaking with newer players, yet also builds rapport with seasoned professionals by leveraging their on-the-field experience and league knowledge
  • LEADS WITH EXPERTISE TO SELL: Leans on expertise of the game to understand and align the athlete’s needs to appropriate products
