The Role

The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for the day-to-day revenue generation and growth for Christie’s Wine & Spirits by developing key client relationships, expanding market presence, and executing strategic sales initiatives. This role acts as a ambassador for the Christie’s Wine & Spirits brand while driving performance across major accounts and channels.

Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Manage the execution of Christie’s Wine & Spirits retail sales strategy to meet or exceed agreed-upon revenue and margin targets

  • Oversee daily retail store operations, including managing and supervising store employees ( i.e., retail sales associates) and delegating tasks to maximize sales and ensure exceptional client experience

  • Develop and manage sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance reporting across channels

  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships while proactively identifying new client opportunities

  • Drive and manage initiatives to expand sales channels, including in-store, phone, email, and events

  • Partner with the buying team to recommend inventory and identify commercial opportunities

  • Manage store-level inventory, including inventory accuracy, replenishment, and month-end inventory and sales close procedures

  • Contribute to retail marketing campaigns, including email content, price lists, events, and social engagement

  • Develop and implement process improvements in conjunction with Management to enhance efficiency, controls, and customer experience

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by Manager

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Wine-specific certification ( e.g., WSET Diploma or equivalent) or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of sales experience selling to private clients, including experience managing or supervising a sales or retail team

  • Proven track record selling fine wine and achieving sales targets

  • Experience with wine inventory management systems; preferred experience with WineHub or similar wine-related business management platform or ERP

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communications

  • Superior, hospitality-driven client service skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize thoughtfully, and manage competing deadlines

  • Strong follow-up skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
