Key Responsibilities

As a Retail Sales Clerk, you will contribute to the department's service-focused mission by providing superior customer service to the public. Daily responsibilities include:


•Customer Engagement: Greet and assist customers in finding products, making selections, and sharing product knowledge.
•Compliance & Safety: Strictly verify IDs to ensure all sales are made only to customers 21 and over, screen for intoxication, and maintain situational awareness for loss prevention.
•Point of Sale: Process transactions accurately at a cash register, handle cash and card payments, give correct change, and balance the till at the end of a shift.
•Inventory & Order Fulfillment: Assist in receiving, inspecting, storing, and displaying merchandise. Fill wholesale liquor orders for clubs, restaurants, and hotels as required.
•Store Operations: Maintain the facility in a clean, orderly, and safe condition (including occasional light maintenance like clearing sidewalks). Assist with inventory spot-checks and help support store operations during peak times or in the absence of management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Age: 21 years of age or older.
Physical: Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Schedule: Able to work a flexible schedule, including various shifts Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Background: Able to pass a criminal background check.
Communication: The ability to speak clearly and understand spoken information effectively.
Customer Service: Able to provide excellent customer service by assessing customer needs and meeting high quality standards.

  • Preference may be given to current employees of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services.

  • Work requires physical exertion.
  • May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. Extensive standing/walking (approx. 70%/30% of shift). Must lift, pull, push, and carry 50 lbs. frequently. Requires constant balancing, grasping, and finger dexterity. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and seeing. Requires frequent talking, hearing, and hand/wrist/arm use. Tools: POS, box cutter, hand truck. Walk on either level or uneven surface frequently. Occasional climbing.
DABS stores are closed on Sundays and all state and federal holidays.
