Job Description

Big White is seeking applications for the position of Retail Sales Associate for the upcoming summer season. As a Retail Sales Associate you will have a friendly and cheerful disposition, a willingness to learn, and previous experience in a retail environment. We offer a wide range of products, from bike related merchandise to giftware. Previous experience with bike and hike-related products, as well as technical apparel, will be considered a strong asset. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service through your product knowledge and genuine interest in outfitting our guests with product that will ensure a great experience and memory of their time at Big White.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner
• Provide product recommendations based on customer needs
• Keeping the store and storage areas clean and tidy
• Restocking
• Receive, unpack, and organize merchandise deliveries
• Follow all procedures related to theft prevention, cash handling/balancing, and safety
• Operate Retail Pro Prism the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately
• Maintain visual merchandising standards set by management, including stocking shelves and cleaning.
• Cleaning stores while keeping up standards set by management

Required qualifications/skills:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent customer service mindset with a friendly, outgoing attitude.
• Good organizational skills
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, especially in outdoor/sporting goods or apparel.
• Ability to use a variety of computer applications
• Ability to handle transactions accurately using a POS system and basic math skills
• Administrative skills
• Time management skills
• Working knowledge of the facility, services and local area
• Must be approachable, dependable and a strong team player
• Must be able to deal with people of various ages with animation and with patience
• Must be able to work Thursday-Sundays and Holiday Mondays
• Comfortable working in an alpine environment and moving between indoor/outdoor spaces.
