It translates customer, adviser, commercial and regulatory requirements into clear product solutions, leading product changes from concept through to launch.
The role maintains strong product governance, ensuring documentation such as Product Disclosure Statements and policy terms are accurate, compliant and customer‑focused. To do this successfully you will:
• Manage the retail advice product portfolio across new and in‑force products, contributing to product strategy, target markets, value propositions and roadmaps, and identifying and addressing underperforming products or features.
• Lead end-to-end product change delivery from concept to launch, including problem definition, options analysis, contribute to business case development, requirements, ensure testing is completed and go-to-market readiness.
• Own product governance and documentation, ensuring Product Disclosure Statements, policy terms and supporting materials are accurate, compliant and approved through appropriate Legal, Risk and governance forums.
• Use customer, adviser, market and competitor insights to identify risks and opportunities, translating learnings into clear, prioritised product improvements.
• Partner effectively with Distribution, Marketing, Underwriting, Claims, Operations, PMO and Technology to resolve product issues, manage impacts across the value chain and provide timely product expertise.
• Support product communications and portfolio initiatives, including adviser and policyholder updates, research and analysis, testing support and maintenance of governance artefacts in line with audit and compliance expectations.
Successful applications will demonstrate:
• Deep understanding of the Australian life, disability and trauma insurance market, with strong knowledge of commercial, regulatory, legislative and distribution drivers and their application in product design and governance.
• Extensive financial services experience, including significant tenure in life insurance and proven leadership in product management and product marketing within regulated, portfolio-based environments.
• Strong planning and delivery capability, with a track record of prioritising competing workstreams, managing dependencies and risks, adapting to change and delivering high-quality outcomes to agreed timeframes.
• Highly collaborative and solutions focused, building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders across Distribution, Marketing, Legal, Risk and Compliance, Operations and Technology in fast-moving environments.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, combining structured problem solving, attention to detail and clear, executive-ready written and verbal communication, supported by effective use of modern delivery and productivity tools.
