About the opportunity 

As our Retail Postage Sorter, you’ll play an important part in keeping millions of Australians connected. As you’d expect, plenty of mail comes through our Post Offices and delivery facilities every day – and our mail sorting teams make sure every delivery gets where it needs to. 

Role Details

• This casual role is ideal for someone who is looking for a career with us, development opportunities and visibility to all permanent positions will be available
• Commences on $34.45 hour for the first 3 months, increasing to $36.83 hour (Junior rates apply to those under 21), + 12% Superannuation
• Extensive, supportive (paid) training on commencement, Monday - Friday, 4-5 hour shifts daily, starting from 5 am
• This role will be “ on call” casual after training, shifts will fall across Monday - Friday, between 5 am - 5.06 pm, full availability is required
• As this is a relief position, shifts will be rostered at Fortitude Valley, Brisbane GPO, West End, Toowong, Brookside, Paddington, Lutwyche, Hamilton, George St and New Farm, you must be willing and able to work at all locations

You’ll be

• Manually sorting all mail arriving at the workplace.
• Sorting and distributing mail into relevant PO Boxes. 
• Assisting and/or performing administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance.

About you

• You’re friendly, enthusiastic and reliable and you love the balance of working in a team environment and autonomously.
• You’re motivated by the opportunity to help make a difference to your community.
• Call upon your memory and hand-eye coordination while sorting. 
• Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift.
