Retail Pharmacy Technician - UNL - University Health Center Pharmacy - PRN/Casual

Position Highlights:

The position is located at our UNL University Health Center. Nebraska Medicine can offer a unique pharmacy work experience that provides opportunities for pharmacy technicians that cannot be found in a traditional pharmacy setting. Responsibilities of pharmacy technicians at the UNL Pharmacy include providing a positive patient experience.

Duties: Retail Pharmacy Technician

Prepares and dispenses medication upon receiving prescription from prescribers and processes all related duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Required Qualifications: Retail Pharmacy Technician

• Minimum of 18 years of age required.
• Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand held calculator required.
• Licensed Nebraska pharmacy intern or registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.
• If registered as a Pharmacy Technician, certification within twelve months of registration date required.

Preferred Qualifications: Retail Pharmacy Technician

• Work experience which demonstrates analytical ability, judgment, and interpersonal skills in pharmacy or healthcare preferred.
• College coursework in pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to type 20 wpm (with error correction) preferred.
