UCBC’s medically-integrated pharmacy is seeking an experienced, reliable, and ambitious pharmacy technician to join our team!
This full-time position will assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff in the medically-integrated retail pharmacy within UCBC to provide all aspects of pharmacy care. This individual will dispense specialty medications by assisting with processing pharmacy claims, filling prescriptions, filing insurance claims, procuring patient assistance, processing prior authorization requests, satellite deliveries, maintaining proper inventory control. This position is expected to follow all state/federal guidelines and current USP standards.
Schedule is Monday through Thursday – 8:30am to 5pm, Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm *no weekends or holidays*
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Customer Service: The employee will present a polite, considerate, and professional manner to all patients, staff, and support individuals whether interacting via phone, email, TEAMS, the EMR, or in person.
Software: The employee shall become competent and knowledgeable in all software systems UCBC uses to process prescriptions and provide medically-integrated care. This may include using PioneerRx, OncoEMR, Microsoft software, CoverMyMeds portal, insurance portals and more.
Prescriptions: The employee will assist pharmacist and pharmacy staff in properly processing prescriptions, adjudicating claims, cashiering, and providing service to our patients and employees.
Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) programs: The employee shall be trained on REMS programs and is expected to comply with all guidelines therein.
The employee will comply with University Cancer & Blood Center, LLC and departmental policies and procedures. The employee will ensure that required licensure (including continuing education requirements) are maintained.
Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma
Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred / Georgia Pharmacy Technician License required
Three years of related experience preferable
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical retail pharmacy operations
Ability and willingness to work with potential exposure to toxic drugs and infectious patients
Ability to operate a computer and various software
Ability to work with precision and accuracy
Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to changing workloads
