Job Description

Riot is expanding into the Trading Card Game space with Riftbound, and we are looking for a Retail Operations Manager to build and operate its retail ecosystem in Korea.

As a Retail Operations Manager, you will lead retail readiness across distributors, TCG shops, PC bangs, organized-play locations, and priority retail partners. You will translate global product and publishing plans into clear local operating plans, ensure partners are prepared for launches and programs, and improve Riot’s visibility into retail performance, product availability, and operational risks.

As this is a new capability for Riot, you will also help define scalable processes and ways of working for retail operations in Korea. You will report to Director, Publishing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Riftbound’s retail operations plan for Korea.
  • Lead retail readiness for product launches, promotional releases, and major campaign moments.
  • Coordinate product information, partner communications, retail materials, training, timelines, and reporting.
  • Serve as Riot’s primary operational partner for distributors and priority retailers.
  • Establish clear operating rhythms, expectations, and issue-resolution processes with external partners.
  • Partner with Publishing, Community, and Organized Play to deliver retail activations, launch events, demos, and promotional programs.
  • Support the growth of Korea’s TCG stores, PC Bangs, and organized-play network. Monitor product availability, retail coverage, partner execution, and demand signals.
  • Identify operational risks and coordinate mitigation plans across Riot and external partners. Build repeatable processes, reporting, and documentation that improve future launches and retail programs.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in retail operations, commercial operations, channel management, trade marketing, distribution, or a related field.
  • Experience working with physical consumer products through retailers, distributors, or specialty-store channels.
  • Experience leading product launches or complex operational programs with internal and external partners.
  • Strong understanding of Korean retail practices and market dynamics.
  • Experience managing distributors, retailers, agencies, vendors, or other business partners.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently drive work from planning through execution.
  • Fluency in Korean and English, both written and spoken.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in trading card games, tabletop games, collectibles, toys, entertainment merchandise, or hobby products.
  • Familiarity with Korea’s hobby-store, specialty-retail, PC Bangs or organized-play ecosystem.
  • Experience with product availability, allocation, sell-through reporting, or promotional fulfillment.
  • Experience building a new operational function or partner model.

Success in This Role

  • Building reliable retail operating processes for Riftbound in Korea.
  • Ensuring partners are prepared for launches and programs.
  • Establishing strong relationships with distributors and retailers.
  • Improving visibility into product availability and retail performance.
  • Resolving operational issues quickly and reducing recurring friction.
  • Creating scalable systems that support Riftbound’s long-term growth.

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!
