Job Description

Your tasks

  • Active support of the Store Manager and direct representation during their absence, ensuring the smooth commercial and operational running of the store.
  • Co-responsibility for staff scheduling, planning and controlling of business processes, and preparation of statistics, reports and evaluations.
  • Take ownership of stock and order management, including stock planning, preparing and placing orders, monitoring incoming and outgoing goods, returns and transfers, and ensuring stock accuracy.
  • Maintain and develop the CRM and client database, ensuring contacts, follow-ups and opportunities are kept up to date.
  • Coordinate monthly stocktaking and the annual inventory, ensuring discrepancies are followed up and resolved.
  • Ensure the store is consistently well presented, organised and aligned with TASCHEN brand standards.
  • Proactively develop sales outside the store, identifying new clients and business opportunities through prospecting, outbound calls and emails, client follow-up and visits.
  • Build, maintain and expand a portfolio of clients, including private collectors, corporate clients, interior designers, architects, art and luxury professionals and other relevant contacts.
  • Active sales of TASCHEN publications, including Collector’s Editions and Photo Prints, both in-store and through direct client outreach.
  • Follow up on sales opportunities and develop long-term customer relationships, with a strong focus on repeat and higher-value sales.
  • Create positive buying experiences through personalised, service-oriented customer care.
  • Support the management and development of employees, including daily coordination and delegation of tasks.
  • Organise and support TASCHEN events, including book signings, book presentations, author talks and other relevant events.
  • Develop external partnerships and commercial opportunities that can generate new clients, visibility and sales for the store.

  • Proven experience in a similar position, ideally in upscale retail, luxury, art, galleries or a comparable environment.
  • Strong sales and business-development mindset, with the ability to proactively generate new business and develop a client portfolio.
  • Comfortable with prospecting, outbound sales, client follow-up and building new commercial relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, highly results-driven approach and willingness to take responsibility.
  • Independent, organised and hands-on, with strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Customer-focused, with a good understanding of service and quality.
  • Confident, friendly and polished appearance.
  • Flexibility, reliability and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm and affinity for TASCHEN’s publishing programme.
  • Existing contacts in the Spanish art, design, architecture, luxury or cultural scene are a strong advantage.
  • Very good knowledge of Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Confident working with MS Office and ideally CRM/customer management systems.
