Accountability: Business Performance Management

  • Develop and deliver performance reports and dashboards to monitor business performance against targets
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Support performance reviews by providing insights, commentary, and data-driven recommendations
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and strategic objectives
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and highlight key drivers
  • Enable data-driven decision-making through clear and actionable insights
  • Collaborate with business units to understand performance drivers and reporting requirements
  • Identify risks and opportunities impacting business performance and escalate where necessary
  • Drive continuous improvement in performance tracking frameworks and MI reporting processes
  • Support forecasting, planning, and target-setting activities with relevant data and analysis
  • Complete and submit regulatory returns on time

Decision and Support

  • Provide data-driven insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Analyse datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
  • Develop scenario analysis and what-if models to support business decisions
  • Support retail management with timely, relevant, and insight-focused MI
  • Partner with business teams to understand decision requirements and provide tailored analysis
  • Present findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner (reports, dashboards, presentations)
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of data used for decision-making
  • Proactively identify areas where data can enhance business decisions
  • Continuously improve analytical approaches and tools to strengthen decision support capabilities

Compliance

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of data used in MI reporting
  • Implement and maintain controls over data sourcing, aggregation, and reporting processes
  • Monitor and identify data quality issues, anomalies, and control gaps
  • Support risk identification by analyzing trends, exceptions, and unusual patterns
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain audit trails and documentation for all MI processes and data sources
  • Drive continuous improvement of control frameworks and data governance practices

Risk & Control

  • Maintain operational rigour by adhering to all procedures and processes to ensure consistently clean (green) audit outcomes.
  • Comply with Absa’s operational risk and rigour requirements, including Health & Safety standards, premises security, KYC obligations, and anti‑money laundering regulations.
  • Sign customer contracts on behalf of the bank only after all internal parties have reviewed and agreed to the terms in line with approved procedures.
  • Ensure robust internal controls by proactively identifying compliance gaps, addressing process risks, and escalating any irregularities in accordance with bank policies.

Education

National Diplomas and Advanced Certificates: Financial Sciences (Required)
