Job Description

Responsible for the overall management, profitability, and working environment of the retail operations and Starbuck’s at Horseshoe Tunica. Greet and assist customers, promote sales and demonstrate good public relations. Work with buyers for suggestions on re-orders of merchandise and customer requests. Work with merchandisers to develop additional display techniques. Awareness of perishable product processing and rotation. Responsible for the screening, interviewing and selection of new employees. Maintain staffing levels to ensure delivery of service is maximized and stores operate efficiently. Conduct pre-shift meetings, coach, motivate, evaluate, and issue discipline when necessary. Effectively handles customer and employee complaints. Takes action to resolve customer and employee issues, complaints, and/or concerns. Ensures company and department policies and procedures are consistently followed by employees. Meets the attendance requirements of the job and adheres to departmental and company policies. Ensure that Starbuck’s policies and procedures are being meet.

  • Oversees the retail operations for our merchandise shop at Horseshoe Casino.
  • Controls the overall receiving and vendor payments in conjunction with general ledger and accounts payable.
  • Controls and evaluates end of month reporting as it relates to cost of goods sold.
  • Responsible for overseeing all inventory preparations and end of month retail reports for all stores.
  • Research visual merchandising market for new fashions and display direction.
  • Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining, and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
  • Serves as a dynamic, positive leader, while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation, and open communication.
  • Acts as a role model and coach while developing employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations.
  • Ensures that team members clearly understand and are held accountable for their performance expectations.
  • Provides appropriate recognition and rewards to individuals and groups when consistent superior performance is attained.
  • Works as a change agent to improve and streamline department operations, through the continuous assessment of policies and procedures, work processes and program effectiveness and value.
  • Demonstrates excellent facilitator skills in resolving conflicts between different points of view.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in determining a vision, aligns and inspires the team to achieve the vision.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure total guest satisfaction and efficient operations in a safe, friendly, comfortable environment, by well-trained, motivated employees.
  • Recommends and implements change to improve overall employee and guest satisfaction.
  • Participates in the financial operating and capital planning processes and makes recommendations that achieve desired financial results.
  • Establishes and endorses the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment Inc. in accordance with the Code of Commitment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Hotel or Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Five to ten years of retail work, including two years in supervision.
  • Must have retail manager experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience working with variety of merchandise preferred.
  • Previous budget and forecasting experience helpful.
  • Able to understand, interpret, and analyze financial reports.
  • Experience in analyzing Profit & Loss performance, hiring staff, training of staff, directing supervisory staff, management of perishable stock, and ordering product.
  • Previous experience designing store layout to increase revenue.
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent, high quality service levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must have a history of developing employees who have been successfully promoted to increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately.
  • Able to conduct conversations with customers and employees.
  • Able to speak distinctly and persuasively to others.
  • Able to write memos, letters, and reports.
  • Able to understand and analyze abstract concepts.
  • Able to work any shift, up to 12 hours at a time when required.
  • Able to operate a cash register, computer, 10 key calculator, telephone, fax and copier.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the Casino.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned area.
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of assigned shift.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers.
