Job Description

Big White is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Retail Hardgoods Sales Associate for the winter season.

As a Retail Hardgoods Sales Associate, you will have exceptional sales skills, complimented by a friendly and cheerful disposition. Prior experience in the ski/snowboard industry is not essential but experience, passion and enthusiasm for sales are. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service through your product knowledge and your genuine interest in outfitting our guests with product that will ensure a great experience and memory of their time at Big White.

Duties include:

• Greeting guests as they enter the shop
• Cash-handling and assisting guests at checkout
• Attending sessions to acquire and develop product knowledge
• Assisting guests with selection and purchase of equipment that is appropriate for their needs and ability
• Keeping work and storage areas clean and tidy at all times
• Comply with all established department and company policies, procedures and code of ethics
• Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service levels at all times

Required qualifications/attributes:

• Professional attitude
• Previous experience in sales
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to use a variety of computer applications
• Cash handling experience
• Must be approachable, dependable and a strong team player
• Must be able to deal with people of various ages with animation and with patience

Desirable (but non-essential) attributes:

• Working knowledge of the facility, services and local area
• Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment

Location: Dizzy's Ski & Board Shop at Big White Ski Resort, BC, Canada Duration: This position will commence from mid/late October 2026 and will finish in late March/early April 2027.
Hours: Full-time. (We endeavor to provide between 32-40 hours work per week, however there may be times when you are required to work more or fewer hours than this). Wages: Starting wage: $19.00/hour. Wages will be determined according to prior experience and skill evaluation. Accommodation: Staff accommodation may be available for approved applicants.
