Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Manager – (Interior Maintenance) will play a critical role in managing interior maintenance across a multi-unit portfolio of retail locations throughout the United States and Canada. This role focuses on maintaining both standard and highly customized environments that define the Bass Pro brand.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, vendor management experience, and the ability to operate effectively in complex, high-traffic locations. This role requires a proactive, solutions oriented approach, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards across the retail environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to ensure all interior maintenance tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
  • Oversee routine inspections and identify areas requiring maintenance or repair.
  • Coordinate with local maintenance teams and external vendors to execute maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure vendors adhere to agreed terms, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues or concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.
  • Develop and implement a strategic maintenance plan that aligns with the company’s long-term goals and objectives. Create a 3-year outlook on the life cycle for all maintenance equipment, identifying key milestones, potential risk, and necessary interventions.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience
  • Preferred Certificate(s) or License(s): RFMP, CFM NFPA 70E, Electrician
  • Years of experience: 3-5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance management, preferably in a retail environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting systems.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms such as Limble, ServiceChannel, is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Planning: Developing and executing comprehensive maintenance schedules for interior assets, including flooring, lighting, and fixtures.
  • Vendor and Team Management: Coordinating with local teams and external vendors to complete repairs and routine maintenance, evaluating performance for quality control.
  • Operational Efficiency: Proactively identifying maintenance needs to minimize disruption to business operations and improve the customer experience.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to company standards, safety guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel as needed to retail locations in the US and Canada.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly: Computer Work, walking, sitting

Occasionally: Standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
