Job Description

Amazon is hiring a Retail Category Marketing Manager (Merchandiser) to improve the experience for our customers in Egypt – Total Consumer Electronics Category.

A Retail Category Merchanidiser is a significant contributor to high-quality customer experiences and performs marketing functions that are medium in scope. This role focuses on category-specific marketing strategies, optimization through testing, demand generation for major events, and awareness campaigns for product launches.

The Merchandiser works primarily on goals and initiatives identified by Retail Leadership but contributes significantly by helping shape major initiatives. They execute tasks with minimal supervision to a high degree of quality and serve as effective points of contact for various teams. This role offers the opportunity to drive category growth through strategic marketing initiatives while working in Amazon's fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment.

Key job responsibilities
Category Marketing Management:
- Ensure site category merchandising is optimized and driving category goals, including support of vendors / brands
- Maintain thorough knowledge of products, categories, and market segment trends
- Conduct iterative testing and generate reporting to analyze performance
- Drive traffic efficiently to products through improved item data, traffic-driving initiatives, and deals plans

Strategic Marketing Functions:
- Execute optimization via A/B tests and demand generation for major events
- Help shape major initiatives by brainstorming new ideas to optimize strategy
- Use existing technologies and infrastructure effectively
- Prioritize and drive targeting and segmentation decisions

Performance & Analysis:
- Analyze vendor performance and customer behavior to identify risks and opportunities
- Implement and track metrics to record success and quality
- Report and monitor campaign performance through multiple data points
- Use data analysis, reporting, and forecasting to guide business decisions

Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as effective point of contact and successful interaction with stakeholders
- Work closely with Category Managers to understand category strategy and vendor roles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, and product management

Basic Qualifications


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Analytical problem-solving ability using data analysis, reporting, and forecasting
- 4+ years of professional experience in retail marketing, account management, with a track record of developing and executing successful campaigns
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

- E-commerce and retail experience
- Familiarity with market research and analytics
- Experience with process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently toward goals
