Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic Retail Business Development Manager to identify partnership and dealer opportunities, build contact networks and grow the Company’s presence throughout Ontario. This position owns the sales and marketing standards to maintain and develop an account. This position will also be accountable for margin management and cost control to maximize profitability.

As an Esso-branded wholesaler (Canada) and Shell-branded wholesaler (Canada), MacEwen is positioned to offer a strong value proposition to retail fuel dealers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • P rospecting and generating leads to expand the retail dealer network by building contact networks and relationships.
  • Develop a progressive contact strategy that includes following up on all leads.
  • Research prospective customers to identify the right contacts/stakeholders to sell to
  • Understand account profitability and gain appropriate approvals and documentation for equipment and supply agreements, ensuring the company's ROI is positive.
  • Lead strong relationships and professional values to re-sign the existing dealer business
  • Manage all levels of brand execution to achieve the highest consumer regard for our brands through exceeding the brand’s loyalty target; conducting value-added site visits, and assisting the dealer to exceed the site experience shop scores.
  • Analyze markets and deliver recommendations to provide required reports, while using the best time management skills to make the most of your prepared schedule.
  • Implement all legal requirements to mitigate risk and liability to ensure the overall health of the dealer network.
  • Own your territory and communicate proactively with all levels of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Essential:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma. Business preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of multi-unit gasoline/retail management or sales background is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate successful Financial Management – results focused on income statements and balance sheets.
  • Understanding of legal agreements, letters of intent, and other business contractual necessities.
  • A high degree of proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of software.

OTHER:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or a comparable CRM tool is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to shift focus and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
  • Willingness to travel and/or overnight travel is required.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Bilingual-French and English, oral and written.
