About the Role

As the Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, driving sales performance, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. You will play a key role in leading teams, maintaining merchandising standards, and executing company initiatives while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.

This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Operations Leadership
Oversee day-to-day store operations, ensuring execution of merchandising standards, visual displays, and company initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team aligned with company expectations and service standards.

Guest Experience Excellence
Ensure a first-class experience in every interaction by resolving guest concerns promptly and effectively within 24 hours.

Sales & Profitability
Drive top-line sales and profitability through effective inventory management, expense control, and operational execution.

Performance Management
Monitor team performance, provide ongoing coaching, and address performance concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Business & Operational Alignment
Partner with the General Manager to implement company policies, achieve operational goals, and maintain accountability across the team.

Stakeholder Collaboration
Build strong relationships with airport authorities, brand partners, and internal support teams through clear and consistent communication.

Administrative Functions
Support interviewing, scheduling, succession planning, performance reviews, and overall workforce management.

  • Proven experience in retail, service, or operations management in a high-volume environment

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in retail, service, or operations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic business functions (cash handling, reporting, etc.)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (7 days/week, including holidays and weekends)
  • Ability to pass required background checks, including Federal Criminal History Records Check and TSA requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, reach, climb ladders, and walk long distances as needed
