Retail Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Staff Accountant reports to the Retail Accounting Manager and supports accounting for Authority Brands' company-owned locations across its Trades and Outdoor brands. This role prepares journal entries, reconciliations, and close activities for assigned locations, with a focus on accurate coding and a detailed understanding of location-level financial results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations for assigned company-owned locations
• Reconcile ServiceTitan and other location system data to NetSuite by location, job, and service type
• Review transaction-level detail to identify and correct miscoded jobs, labor, materials, and other costs
• Ensure accurate department, location, job, and service-level coding across all entries
• Perform flux analysis at the department, location, job, and service type levels and research variances prior to close
• Support corporate allocations, audit requests, and special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress towards CPA preferred
• 2-4 years of general accounting experience; multi-entity experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficient in Excel and an ERP/accounting system (e.g., SAP, NetSuite).
