Join our Restructuring Team as a Legal Support Specialist located in our Miami office.

We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and proactive professional to provide legal and administrative support to multiple attorneys in the Restructuring Department. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivers excellent client service, and is comfortable managing competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.

This role will be based in our Miami office, on an in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building.

The Restructuring Legal Support Specialist will provide administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys. This position is responsible for document production, organizing and maintaining legal files, billing, time entry, calendar management, travel coordination, research, expense processing, and general office responsibilities. Candidates should be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafts, edits, proofreads, produces, and organizes legal documents and correspondence

  • Assists with preparing and filing pleadings, including motions and draft orders; prepares service lists and certificates of service; and coordinates Zoom court appearances

  • Opens new matters, prepares engagement letter templates, and processes conflict checks

  • Organizes and maintains legal files, ensuring materials are accurate, complete, and accessible

  • Handles billing support, time entry, and related administrative follow-up

  • Maintains attorney calendars, coordinates meetings, arranges travel, and processes expenses

  • Conducts internet research, supports general office responsibilities, and assists with projects as needed and/or assigned

  • Provides excellent service to internal and external clients while supporting attorneys and team members in a professional manner

  • Full-time position with flexibility to work overtime as needed

Education & Prior Experience

  • Minimum of four years of legal secretary or legal administrative assistant experience at a medium-to-large sized law firm

  • Bankruptcy experience and/or e-filing experience in bankruptcy courts is a plus

  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment preferred

Technology

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with Filesite and/or iManage is a plus

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), including core capabilities, limitations, and importance of data privacy, accuracy, verification, and ethical considerations within a professional services environment

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools) and incorporate them responsibly into day-to-day workflows to enhance daily work tasks as appropriate and/or directed

  • Proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging AI and related technologies and contributes to a culture of innovation
