
Due to continued growth within the practice, we are looking for a mid-level lawyer to join our Restructuring & Insolvency team in Sydney. You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners on complex restructuring & insolvency matters (contentious and non-contentious advisory).
For the first time since launching our Restructuring & Insolvency practice over two years ago, we have an opportunity for an Associate to join the team in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a global law firm as part of a growing, high performing team in the region who provide market-leading multi-dimensional advice to our clients on the increasingly challenging and technically complex areas of restructuring & insolvency law.
The Team
Globally, we help lenders, insolvency practitioners, investors, directors, creditors, and all those concerned with the restructuring of distressed businesses, as well as working with those investigating & prosecuting the causes of corporate failure. Our team members have advised on most major cross border restructurings of the last decade. Our restructuring and Insolvency comprise a team of restructuring and insolvency experts draw on the unrivalled expertise from colleagues across our corporate, finance, tax, regulatory, employment, real estate, projects safety and litigation groups to provide market-leading multi-dimensional advice to our clients on the increasingly challenging and technically complex areas of restructuring & insolvency. The team works closely with other practice arears in our firm to develop innovative ideas and practical solutions for our clients.
Our R&I Team provides structuring, restructuring, recapitalisation and insolvency advice for various advisors or boards of corporations across the spectrum of ASX listed, large corporates, SMEs and NFPs. The team includes several lawyers with professional membership in the restructuring & insolvency peak body, the Australian Restructuring and Insolvency Turnaround Association (ARITA) and multiple legal professionals who are adept at providing structuring, restructuring, recapitalisation, insolvency and corporate dispute advice for various entities across the spectrum of ASX listed, large corporates, SMEs, Associations (including various sporting associations) and not-for-profits.
We are regularly retained to manage a diversity of debt portfolios and collection books for various corporate clients particularly where there are levels of impairment in terms of payment compliance or otherwise managing contractual (and other) disputes that arise in response to non-payment or insolvency of suppliers. Our team solves legal issues for clients who experience distress or insolvency in their supply chain and are skilled at generating innovative, practical and commercial sound solutions for clients. They strive to deliver those solutions in a way to maximise certainty, preserve value and limit the impacts of distress or insolvency for those clients.
Our team has extensive experience in all facets of litigation across a broad range of sectors and with specific expertise in corporations, consumer law, securities, equity & trusts, and corporate litigation claims. We are focused on solving complex litigated disputes based on the commercial realities and scale of disputes having regard to the commercial objectives of our clients.
