MNL is a full-service ecological restoration company dedicated to Healing the Earth. Our services include native seed and plant production, shoreline and wetland restoration, prescribed burns, conservation grazing, vegetation management, and ecological consulting. We also support solar and infrastructure projects with pollinator-friendly practices and land stewardship expertise.

Our Vegetation Management team provides a range of land-management services across the Midwest and beyond, including prescribed grazing. A significant portion of our grazing work is delivered through a growing network of independent farmers and grazing collaborators who provide livestock, equipment, and field execution in the markets we serve. As this network continues to grow, we need someone who can stay closely connected to our collaborators, help prepare them for successful projects, see their work firsthand, and ensure MNL and customer expectations are consistently met.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Grazing Collaborator & Subcontractor Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day coordination, readiness, field performance, and continued development of our network of grazing collaborators across multiple geographic markets.

This is a highly mobile, field-focused position for someone who understands grazing and livestock operations and enjoys working directly with farmers and other independent partners. You'll serve as the primary day-to-day connection between MNL and our grazing collaborators—helping prepare them for upcoming work, ensuring they understand project and customer expectations, visiting their sites to evaluate execution and field conditions, addressing performance concerns, and helping strong collaborators continue to grow with us.

You'll also help us strengthen and expand the collaborator network by identifying potential partners, understanding their capabilities and capacity, helping prepare them to successfully work with MNL, and providing the field-level insight that helps determine which collaborators are the right fit for future projects.

In addition to working with grazing collaborators, you'll also provide field oversight of other subcontracted vegetation management work, particularly while traveling in markets where we do not have regular field presence.

What You Will Do

Coordinate & Support Grazing Collaborators

• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for MNL’s grazing collaborators, building strong working relationships while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
• Coordinate upcoming work so collaborators understand project scope, timing, site requirements, customer expectations, safety requirements, and performance standards.
• Help ensure collaborators are prepared to mobilize and successfully complete assigned work.
• Maintain regular communication with collaborators and assigned Project Managers/Estimators regarding upcoming work, changing field conditions, performance concerns, and other issues affecting project execution.

Monitor Grazing Performance in the Field

• Regularly travel to collaborator grazing sites to evaluate project progress, work quality, livestock and vegetation conditions, and overall field execution.
• Identify performance, quality, schedule, site, or other execution concerns and work with collaborators and internal teams to get them resolved.
• Hold collaborators accountable for addressing deficiencies and following through on agreed-upon corrective actions.
• Document and communicate meaningful field observations and collaborator performance to the appropriate MNL teams.

Help Grow MNL’s Grazing Collaborator Network

• Identify and evaluate potential grazing collaborators to support new projects, geographic expansion, and future growth.
• Help new collaborators understand MNL’s processes, project expectations, safety requirements, documentation, and performance standards.
• Maintain an understanding of collaborator capabilities, capacity, geographic coverage, strengths, and limitations to support future project planning.
• Build long-term relationships with strong collaborators and identify opportunities to improve how MNL works with its grazing partner network.

Support Other Subcontracted Vegetation Management Work

• While traveling in markets where MNL does not have regular field presence, visit other subcontracted vegetation management projects to evaluate progress, work quality, site conditions, and adherence to project expectations.
• Identify and communicate performance or quality concerns, follow up on needed corrections, and provide feedback to Project Managers/Estimators to help inform future subcontractor decisions.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 70% of the time, including frequent overnight and out-of-state travel.
• Practical experience with prescribed grazing, grazing management, livestock, or a related field, with enough knowledge of grazing practices to work credibly and effectively with experienced grazing collaborators.
• Understanding of the factors that influence successful grazing projects, including vegetation and site conditions, project objectives, timing, and field execution.
• Experience working directly with grazing collaborators, farmers, agricultural contractors, subcontractors, or other independent service providers.
• Experience with vegetation management, ecological restoration, solar vegetation management, or other field-based natural resource work is preferred.
• Ability to evaluate field conditions and work quality, recognize performance or operational concerns, and effectively address issues with independent collaborators and subcontractors.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with external partners and internal teams while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, make sound field-level decisions, and remain productive while traveling extensively.
• Ability to clearly document and communicate field observations, performance concerns, and project information.
• Ability to effectively use company technology and project management systems while working remotely and in the field.
• Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule based on seasonal and project needs, including extended workweeks and irregular hours during peak operating periods.
