We are looking for an experienced and passionate Restaurant Supervisor with a strong background in Japanese dining to join our opening team. In this role, you will oversee daily restaurant operations, lead the service team and ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience that reflects our luxury hospitality standards.

  • Ensuring the team demonstrates strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, menu offerings, ingredients and traditional dining etiquette.
  • Overseeing restaurant preparation, table settings, service sequences and presentation standards.
  • Welcoming and engaging with guests, anticipating their needs and handling feedback or concerns professionally.
  • Working closely with the culinary team to ensure accurate order delivery, consistent food presentation and smooth coordination between the kitchen and service team.
  • Conducting daily briefings, assigning duties and monitoring team performance throughout service periods.
  • Supporting the training and development of colleagues, particularly in Japanese food and beverage knowledge and service standards.
  • Monitoring inventory, stock usage, wastage and operational costs while supporting the restaurant's financial performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Supporting the Restaurant Manager in maintaining service quality, guest satisfaction and overall restaurant performance.

What We need from you:

  • Previous experience in a Japanese restaurant is required, preferably within a luxury hotel, fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant Food & Beverage service experience, with previous supervisory or team-leading experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi, Japanese ingredients, beverages and dining traditions.
  • Good understanding of Japanese dining etiquette, service sequences and guest expectations.
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate a service team while maintaining high operational standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage restaurant operations during busy service periods.
  • A hands-on leadership approach, positive attitude and genuine passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
