Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for learning and being familiar with all of Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa’s room outlets, and for being able to answer general questions regarding the property.
- Assists in training and developing team members to the proper service standards.
- Assists the management team in monitoring guest service, food quality, and service quality on a consistent basis.
- Assists the management team in maintaining the morale of the department through open communication and teamwork.
- Interacts with guests and team members by maintaining a visible presence in guest areas during peak business periods.
- Assists in managing the expenses for the outlets through par inventory maintenance and ordering supplies as needed.
- Assists in labor management by increasing and/or reducing labor based on business demands.
- Ensures that foods coming from the kitchens are up to designated standards; communicates with the culinary and chef teams if there are discrepancies in quality or consistency.
- Observes and enforces Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, proper steam table temperature, and cleanliness of work environment.
- Attends company training programs as scheduled.
- Completes opening, closing and other side duties as assigned by manager.
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food and beverage services required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity required.
- Must have excellent customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Must have good organizational skills and ability to complete several ongoing activities, projects, or assignments to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high degree of honesty and candor.
- Ability to adhere to, interpret, and explain company policies and procedures to others, including but not limited to attendance, appearance, safety, and security policies.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to obtain support for ideas and actions from peers or managers in order to accomplish a task or goal.
STARTING SALARY
$21.00 to $23.00 per hour
