The Purple Cow Restaurant History:
There are lots of things that make The Purple Cow Restaurant a great spot “for the young of all ages.” Our commitment to quality food and terrific service are obviously biggies. We take a lot of pride in preparing your favorites, and our burgers and shakes are famous for a reason.
But our family-friendly atmosphere and fantastic staff are equally important. A visit to our place is more than a meal. It’s an experience that the whole family truly enjoys – a great time together that, these days, isn’t easy to come by. And we’re proud of that, too.
It all started in 1989 when businessman Ed Moore and Chef Paul Bash opened The Purple Cow Restaurant on Cantrell Road in Little Rock. That original location – modeled after classic diners of the 50s – was a hit, and was soon followed by a second spot. A Hot Springs location was opened in 2010 and in 2014 we opened a location in Conway/Hendrix Village. Our newest “calf” joined the family in 2019 with the opening of North Little Rock. We soon welcome the rebuild from the March 31, 2023 tornado that swept through Central Arkansas destroying the Cantrell location in fall of 2024.
It’s been more than twenty years, but The Purple Cow Restaurant is staying true to its much-loved roots. The décor is still classic. The atmosphere is still nostalgic. The food is still fantastic. And you know what? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
