The Hoxton Portland and Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Restaurant Manager to join our team!

The Hoxton, Portland is situated in an iconic building with an incredible history dating back to 1906. Located in Portland’s Old Town Chinatown, The Hoxton, Portland has vibrant, welcoming public spaces providing a place where guests can hangout alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighborhood, 119 bedrooms, a rooftop restaurant and basement bar.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and direct the day to day operations of the restaurants for efficient and organized service
  • Supervise the team and the floor operations to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and follow regulations
  • Work with wider other management team to plan marketing, advertising and any special restaurant functions
  • Assist with department scheduling, hiring, and performance management
  • Address any concerns from guests regarding food quality or service
  • Ensure sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas are followed.
  • Make sure the restaurants are compliant with all health and safety regulations.
  • Work with General Manager of R&B and Finance team to review and monitor expenses to ensure they conform to budget limitations. Work to improve financial performance.
  • Lead and inspire your team to ensure a high level of engagement and exceptional individual service
  • Role model The Hoxton’s values and behavior
  • Ensure all members of the team follow the rules, do their best for The Hox, and love their jobs
  • Play a key role in team development and training
  • Make sure The Hoxton, Portland maintains 100% labor and legal compliance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or certificate, post high school education and degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years food and beverage supervisory experience required Should be in a similar size restaurant operation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Outgoing personality
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally
  • Team player
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of three meal restaurants preferred
  • Knowledge of Hotel food and beverage operations and room service preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including PM's, weekends and holidays
