Our client, a contemporary city-centre aparthotel in Cape Town, is seeking a highly skilled and guest-focused Restaurant Manager to lead their in-house dining operation.

The Role

As Restaurant Manager, you will take full responsibility for the daily running of the restaurant within the aparthotel. You will lead the front-of-house team, ensure consistent service standards, and drive an outstanding guest experience aligned with a modern hospitality brand.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring strong floor presence and the ability to manage both service and operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations & Guest Experience

• 
  Oversee all daily restaurant operations including breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
• 
  Ensure smooth service flow and exceptional guest experiences at all times
• 
  Maintain high standards of food and beverage presentation, cleanliness, and ambience
• 
  Manage guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally
• 
  Collaborate closely with kitchen and hotel teams for seamless operations

Team Leadership

• 
  Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team
• 
  Manage staff scheduling, rosters, and performance
• 
  Conduct training to ensure consistent service standards
• 
  Foster a positive, professional, and service-driven team culture
• 
  Lead by example with a hands-on management approach

Financial & Operational Management

• 
  Monitor daily sales, service efficiency, and restaurant performance
• 
  Manage labour costs and operational expenses
• 
  Oversee stock control, ordering, and wastage management
• 
  Support budgeting and reporting processes
• 
  Ensure profitability while maintaining service excellence

Compliance & Standards

• 
  Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
• 
  Maintain operational SOPs and brand standards
• 
  Coordinate with hotel management and suppliers where required

Requirements

• 
  Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Restaurant Manager or senior restaurant leadership role
• 
  Experience in hotel, aparthotel, or high-volume restaurant environments preferred
• 
  Strong leadership and people management skills
• 
  Excellent guest service and communication abilities
• 
  Solid understanding of restaurant operations and financial controls
• 
  Ability to work in a fast-paced, city-centre hospitality environment
• 
  Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
