Job Description

The AC Hotel is searching for a hostess for Juniper, their rooftop restaurant.

The Hostess is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming first impression for guests. This position greets guests upon arrival, manages seating arrangements, assists with reservations, and maintains an organized and inviting entrance and dining area. The Hostess works closely with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure an efficient and enjoyable guest experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests promptly with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Manage the flow of guests and seating according to restaurant procedures and table availability.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus as appropriate.
• Maintain an accurate seating chart and communicate table status with the service team.
• Manage reservations, wait lists, and special seating requests.
• Provide guests with accurate information regarding menus, restaurant hours, amenities, and hotel services when applicable.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and assist guests with questions or reservations.
• Monitor the dining room and host stand to ensure cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming appearance.
• Communicate guest needs, special occasions, and requests to the appropriate team members.
• Assist servers and other Food & Beverage associates as needed during busy periods.
• Help maintain appropriate guest flow and minimize unnecessary wait times.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and notify management when assistance is needed.
• Follow all company, hotel, and Food & Beverage policies and procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain friendly, professional, and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate with guests and teamThe Hostess is expected to consistently demonstrate members.
• Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the restaurant as needed.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Guest Service Expectations

The Hostess is expected to consistently demonstrate hospitality, professionalism, teamwork, and a genuine desire to provide an exceptional guest experience. The position serves as one of the first and last points of contact for guests and plays an important role in representing the restaurant and hotel.
