About the role
As Restaurant General Manager – Basalt at The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, guest experience, operational excellence, and financial performance of Basalt Restaurant & Bar.
Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, you will lead the Basalt team in delivering exceptional service, beverage, and culinary experiences while establishing the venue as a distinctive dining and social destination in Gstaad. Combining strong operational leadership with commercial acumen, you will drive revenue, profitability, team performance, and guest engagement while ensuring Four Seasons luxury standards are consistently delivered.
This is a seasonal position with a fixed-term contract starting in February 2027, allowing you to play an integral role throughout the pre-opening phase and the hotel’s first summer season. The initial contract is expected to run until approximately mid-September 2027, with the position intended for a long-term seasonal commitment as part of the future of The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel.
What you will do
Lead and manage all operations of Basalt Restaurant & Bar.
Drive exceptional guest experiences and consistently deliver Four Seasons luxury service standards.
Develop and maintain the positioning of Basalt as a leading dining and social destination.
Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing restaurant and bar team.
Drive revenue growth, profitability, average spend, beverage performance, and overall outlet performance.
Manage outlet budgets, labor productivity, operating costs, and operational resources effectively.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage leadership team to ensure seamless food, beverage, entertainment, and guest experiences.
Build strong relationships with repeat guests, VIPs, owners, suppliers, and local partners.
Support outlet activations, special events, partnerships, promotional campaigns, and guest engagement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety requirements, operational procedures, and company standards.
Drive service enhancement, continuous improvement, and innovation across the restaurant and bar operation.
Support hotel opening activities, seasonal readiness, and ongoing concept development initiatives.
What you bring
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in luxury restaurant, bar, or hospitality operations, preferably within luxury hotels, resorts, or destination dining venues.
Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and engage high-performing teams.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing revenue, profitability, labor productivity, budgets, and operating costs.
Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences and consistently maintain luxury service standards.
Strong operational expertise across restaurant and bar operations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Hospitality, food safety, wine, beverage, or leadership certifications are advantageous.
Fluent English and German and/or French required. Additional languages are advantageous.
A proactive, professional, and service-oriented approach.

Schedule & Hours
Full-time, seasonal position on a fixed-term contract from February 2027 until approximately mid-September 2027, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays per seasonality.
Seasonal operation with primary opening periods from June to September and December to March.
