This is a property where service, detail, and consistency matter, and where the Restaurant General Manager plays a key role in shaping the guest experience and team culture.

Requirements

We are seeking a hands-on, service-driven Restaurant General Manager to lead Café Marquesa. This role is responsible for the day-to-day restaurant operations, team leadership, guest experience, and financial performance of the outlet.

The ideal candidate is a strong floor presence leader, comfortable in a smaller, high-touch environment, and passionate about delivering a refined but approachable dining experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, coach, and develop the front-of-house team
  • Set the tone for service standards aligned with Relais & Châteaux expectations
  • Build a strong, accountable, and guest-focused team culture
  • Maintain a hands-on presence on the floor during service

Guest Experience

  • Ensure a consistently high level of service and hospitality
  • Engage with guests and create memorable, personalized experiences
  • Handle guest feedback and service recovery with professionalism

Operations

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, including service flow and staffing
  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef on menu execution and service timing
  • Maintain standards across dining room, bar, and overall presentation
  • Ensure all systems (POS, reservations, reporting) are functioning effectively

Financial Performance

  • Manage labor, cost controls, and overall profitability
  • Drive revenue through thoughtful service, upselling, and wine program execution
  • Monitor performance and adjust operations as needed

Wine & Beverage Focus

  • Support and elevate the existing wine program
  • Train team on wine knowledge and service
  • Partner with leadership on beverage development and execution

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a luxury or boutique environment
  • Strong background in food & beverage operations and service standards
  • Experience with wine programs and a solid understanding of wine service
  • Proven ability to lead small teams with a hands-on approach
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Experience in Relais & Châteaux, Michelin, or Forbes-level environments preferred

Essential Job Requirements:

  1. Exert physical effort in lifting 50+ pounds on a regular basis
  2. Push/Pull 50 + pounds
  3. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  4. Remain in stationary and mobile position throughout the entire work shift.
  5. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
