About the role
As Restaurant Chef – Basalt, you will lead the culinary operation of one of the signature dining concepts at The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel.
Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will take ownership of the culinary identity, quality and day-to-day performance of Basalt. From seasonal menu development and exceptional product quality to team leadership and operational execution, you will play a defining role in bringing the restaurant concept to life.
Working closely with the Restaurant General Manager, you will ensure a seamless connection between kitchen and service while creating a distinctive dining experience defined by contemporary craftsmanship, seasonality and a strong sense of place.
This is a seasonal position starting in February 2027, joining our pre-opening team ahead of the hotel’s Summer 2027 opening and continuing through our first summer operating season until approximately mid-September 2027. The position is intended for candidates interested in building a long-term seasonal journey with Four Seasons in Gstaad.
What you will do
Lead the daily culinary operations of Basalt and ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, consistency and guest satisfaction
Develop and execute the culinary identity of Basalt through seasonal menus, signature dishes and distinctive dining experiences
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing culinary team
Drive food cost, inventory, productivity, waste reduction and operational efficiency
Build strong relationships with suppliers and local producers, ensuring exceptional product quality and responsible sourcing
Partner closely with the Restaurant General Manager to ensure seamless alignment between culinary and service delivery
Lead culinary readiness from pre-opening and seasonal preparation through service and closing activities
What you bring
A degree, diploma or recognised professional qualification in Culinary Arts or a related field
Minimum four years of progressive culinary leadership experience within luxury hospitality, high-end restaurants, resorts or comparable premium dining environments
Proven experience leading a restaurant kitchen and delivering a distinctive, high-quality culinary concept
Strong culinary craftsmanship with a genuine appreciation for exceptional ingredients, seasonality and product quality
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and inspire a culinary team
Strong operational and financial understanding, including food cost, inventory and productivity
Experience in seasonal luxury hospitality, restaurant openings or pre-opening environments is advantageous
Fluent English; additional languages are advantageous
In accordance with Swiss employment regulations, only candidates holding Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship, or a valid Swiss work authorization, can be considered for this position.
